Mushroom Caves at The Wolves Leap

A day of resettlement in the rain and education in the mushroom caves at La Champignonnier du Saut Aux Loups

We had only been able to get our first spot at this campsite for 3 nights, then we had to relocate to another another spot for the next two nights. Unfortunately a thunderstorm complicated matters somewhat! Still we got moved and soon resettled.

In the local Mushroom Museum we saw many beautiful mushrooms and learned all about how they are grown and their benefits. I liked this Yellow Oyster mushrooms.

We bought some “Blonds Champignons de Paris“ for David to cook with the lamb steaks he was going to be making for dinner. He made a delicious mushroom sauce with it as well.
Kevin provided some local Saumur sparkling wine before dinner and we enjoyed a very special Primitivo Italian red wine with dinner.
Altogether a very special evening.

We played cards after dinner.
