Strawberry Tea
SATURDAY
For once, I gave the Parkrun a miss today.
I spent most of the morning making up and printing off some flyers and posters to promote the village photography competition which is running throughout July. I took some up to the Salusbury Arms community pub and put the posters on the four noticeboards around the village.
This afternoon we went up to a "Strawberry Tea" event held in the garden of the Salusbury Arms the proceeds from which will go to the renovation of The Old School building. The Old School, which is used for community activities, is a listed building. It was was built in 1835 and replaced an even older school erected in 1765.
The rain held off throughout the afternoon. The tea - a bowl of strawberries and cream and a scone with home-made strawberry jam and cream was lovely and it was nice to chat with neighbours and other villagers.
