Cool nags, fiery foxes
Walking down the valley to the sea we saw these horses wearing what looked like dust covers but I later discovered they are Cool Coats designed to stop them getting overheated and pestered by flies.
The pebbly cove was deserted save for a single seal whose head could be seen popping up from the water now and then.
Walking back up the other side of the valley we passed a patch of the intensely orange-flowered plant known as fox and cubs on account of the juxtapostion of open blooms and tightly closed buds on a single stalk. There's lots of myth and folklore attached to the plant and its red-hot blossom.
