Super spreader....
Another dry day,but still not warm. A chilly breeze all day.
Once I'd been round all the cows had to go next door to help wee brother bring in a newly calved cow. She had had a set of twins, neither of which had sucked.
Also took the chance to say my goodbyes to middle brother and partner as they head home to Australia tomorrow morning. It's been a quick 3 weeks.
After lunch ,hitched up the tedder and set about spreading the field of grass I mowed yesterday. Hopefully it will wilt over the next few days enough to get it baled. However it is Scotland so it will probably rain .....
The contractor was busy over the fence on reclaiming the latest field we are getting back from the sand quarry. It's a bit of a mess having sat growing weeds for the last 2 years. They have rotavated over the drains twice and are busy spreading the big midden of dung I have spent ages carting down. The plan next is to try and deep plough it,work the ground again,de-stone it,then eventually sow it out to grass.
A trip down the road tonight to eventually get round the fences in the field I need to get the last of the bulling heifers into. A lot of fallen branches to cut off the wire ,a lot of insulators to nail back onto stobs, and a few broken stobs to replace too. But eventually got it sorted, put a battery and electric fencer on and was getting 6000 V on the tester,so should be OK.
Home by 9 pm for another late tea. The story of my life .......
