A ride in the Vale
As part of my training I did a 65k ride in the hilly meandering lanes of the Vale of Glamorgan. I stopped off at the pretty village of Llan-Fair near Cowbridge and took my customary photo of bike and church; in this case, S Mary’s Church, which originates in the 12th century, with additions in the 16th century and 1862.
It was a good ride apart from crashing 50 yards from home when a car passed me a little too closely causing me to wobble into a protruding plastic bollard. Emerged slightly bruised (body and ego) with minor damage to bike. I was cross that the car driver, who must have seen me fall, did not stop. Either he was not paying proper attention or was just uncaring.
