Scaleby castle

Scaleby castle, just NE of Carlisle, was originally built in the 14th Century.

Parliamentary troops attacked the castle twice during The English Civil War...It was later restored as a country house.

The castle and gardens were opened this afternoon, raising money for The Red Cross.

There was a delicious selection of cakes + teas and coffees.
