Teesdale violet

It was Pam’s Plant Sale today so we went to have a look. David gave us a quick tour of their amazing back garden, which is a miniature growing nursery. Pam has been very pleased with the support she has had, and lots of sales. She is trying to clear things out a bit, as they are having some major works done on the house which will cause a lot of disruption.
We then took Bonnie up onto Arnside Knott, hoping to see some butterflies or hoverflies, but nothing doing. We did have a look at the rare violets, which seem to be doing quite well this year after some major clearing out of their little grass patch.
I had a go at preparing a place for my new purchases and found the ground reasonably dry and weedable for once!
