She’s made it to another birthday!

107 years old today.

I went in this morning, took her flowers, card and a piece of her favourite apple slice .

The girls at the Resthome had dressed her up in a sparkly blue top and pearls.

She was fairly amused about the whole fuss.
We sat and had a cup of tea and she quite enjoyed herself.

We were going to put on a big afternoon tea but we’ve realised that it’s too much for her now, she has moments of stress and occasional outbursts of anger when she’s overwhelmed. Not her fault at all. Just how her mind is now.
So she will have lots of short visits from friends throughout the day so that she can rest in between.

I’m pretty sure she is the second oldest person in NZ.

I feel so privileged and lucky to know her.
