One Petal at a Time

There are a few rogue sunflowers that sprouted around the garden. I'm guessing the tallest one is pushing 12 feet. If I planted sunflower seeds, the plants would never be so healthy. Such is one of the mysteries of gardening. Temps topped at 87 degrees this afternoon; hot for us. It's supposed to get worse for the rest of the week. 

Here is a domestic tip for those of you who have a Kitchenaid stand mixer: there is a little cap that screws on to the front of the appliance to cover the hole where the accessories attach. THIS CAN FALL OFF INTO THE BOWL WHILE IT'S MIXING! It will make weird noises and cause the bowl to jump off the stand. If you are lucky, you will be standing there and be quick enough to catch it. Just be careful, and check to see that the screw is tightened before every use. Thank me later.


I was trying a new recipe for Pretzel Buns, thinking they might work for the next cook-out. They came out pretty good in spite of the kitchen drama. I really hate to think about what could have happened if that bowl flew off the counter.
