A grey heron at the Serpentine in Hyde Park, London. Who would have thought the best shot of a heron would be in the middle of a huge city? I see these lovely birds every day at home, fishing in the river and the sea but they are very cautious animals. This slightly battered specimen was very confident and surprised me by eating bread - I presumed they were a fish-only species. Adaptation I suppose.

A roasting day which ended with Jaegerbombs and lots of hilarity.

Ouch.
