Almost Heaven

Yes, I’ve ticked West Virginia off my US states to visit list; Blue Ridge mountains, Shenandoah River and all that. Also flocks of turkey vultures and lots of abandoned farms but old JD may have just forgotten about them.
We did a mountain drive today along roads that bikers would surely love (serpentine doesn’t pay them justice), then along flat valley roads and finally along meandering riverside roads. Great stuff but I think we’re now mountained out!
Headed into Roanoke for dinner this evening and wandered around for a bit. There was an open air concert getting going and most of the local population seemed to be headed there. No idea who was playing as nothing was advertised but methinks there may have been a C&W flavour about it.
