We went to Neukölln to check out some art spaces. It felt like the degree shows I've been to before. The photo was taken in an ex department store. At the top level most of the space was given over to this gigantic orange tube. It was filled with air and could be moved around a bit. It looked like intestines and reminded me of times spent negotiating the duodenum (a corridor in a now turned into flats ex hospital) of my old workplace. The artist was
Paula Vidal
and the installation was called Snoring.
Old department stores as art and community spaces is a great idea. I hope there will be more.
