Art Therapy Camp in Edessalo island in Jämsä
Today was my last work day before summer holiday! I kicked off the holiday with a bang! Hubby and Emma drove me to Jämsä in the afternoon, where I hopped on a mini bus with 5 other ladies (I already knew 3 of them!). The bus drove us to a small harbor, where we boarded a SAR boat. It took about 15 minutes, and we arrived to Edessalo island. We were about to start an art therapy weekend (organised for metastasis breast cancer sufferers). Medical professionals Heidi and Piia welcomed us - they organised everything and took very good care of us.
The beautiful old farm is owned by Tellervo Edessalo Foundation, which supports cancer research and cancer patients.
I slept in a room behind those upstairs windows. The house was beautiful inside and out. On the first night we had dinner and went to sauna. I swam in a lake the first time this summer.
Today was the hottest day this summer, over 30°C! On the way back home hubby, Emma and Peetu had a break at Himos Ski Center - they wanted to climb to the top of the highest hill. A bit insane idea, if you ask me! Especially without water bottles! But the made it, and went swimming afterwards.
+30,7°C, sunny
