Touch wood...

...the touch-up paint for my car will be right this time...

Roy has gone to pick up a pot from Appleyard's, the actual Suzuki dealers, so we're hoping it's the right colour at last!

When we knock on wood, or in Britain it's called “touch wood,” tradition says the phenomenon dates from ancient pagan cultures such as the Celts, who believed that spirits and gods resided in trees. Knocking on tree trunks may have served to rouse the spirits and call on their protection, but it could have also been a way of showing gratitude for a stroke of good luck.

So...knock on wood... for good luck, or to avoid bad luck ;)
