Hosta flower

I've planted three hostas this year in the part of the garden that gets a lot of shade. Two are doing really well, they have trebled in size and are producing flowers. I was disturbed to see how many aphids and black fly there were on my cosmos, scabiosa and one of the hosta. I popped back out with my soapy water spray and will do the same tomorrow. I prefer nature to remove the bugs with predation but the sheer numbers made me reach for the soap!
I can't believe we are in July!
