Wash And Brush Up

………. Boo decided a bit of a clean was in order before his snooze ;-)

A trip to the recycling centre ( what I’ve always called ‘the tip/dump’ ) this morning. It was far busier than I expected and really hard to find a space to pull into to unload - I had to do at least two circuits before I managed to squeeze in somewhere and then I was quite a way away from the particular skip I needed to use, so had to lug as much as I could carry and lock the car up between walks to the right skip ………. now I remember why I hate visiting that place, humph :-/

I’ve had a hankering for apple pie from the garden centre coffee shop all weekend, they do the best apple pie I’ve ever tasted and nothing else even comes close, so I decided to call in on my way back as my reward for braving the dump. It wasn’t the best piece I’ve had there but it was still good and satisfied the craving.
I don’t really eat much sweet stuff since I was found to be pre-diabetic in a routine blood test a couple of years ago, so it really was a rare treat.
Thankfully, with changes to my diet, some weight loss and more exercise I’ve managed to get the readings into the ‘normal’ range again. I have to watch what I eat these days - but I’m sure a little treat every so often won’t affect levels too much so long as I’m careful the rest of the time ;-))

It was mum’s birthday today and the first where I haven’t been able to see her, so it’s been a bit sad. However, the sadness is becoming a little easier to live with and I just take each day as it comes ;-)
