First rasps
I'm blessed (?) with an extremely fertile garden where you only have to look at it and something new grows (whether you want it to or not). We didn't plant these raspberry canes; they just sort of generated spontaneously in a corner of the garden behind the garage and they're now starting to bear fruit in earnest.
Scotland is famous for its summer fruit (strawberries, raspberries, loganberries, etc.) and you still find pick-your-own farms throughout the Clyde Valley and further afield. Happily, we won't have to go that far...
PS. For dinner tonight, Daughter No.1 collected a punnet's worth, sieved them with caster sugar to make a jus, pouring it over fresh strawberries served with freshly whipped cream.
Oh, joy...
