More than a few coppers…

When my boiler was replaced a while back, the plumbers almost fell over themselves to be helpful, offering to take away the old hot water cylinder. “No problem, no charge”, they said. “Happy to help” they protested, when I demurred.

“Is copper still about £5 a kilo?” I asked innocently. Somewhat sullenly they gave up quietly, and today I finally dropped it off at a Stirling scrappy in return for £90, I shall not spend it wisely.
