It had to go !

I am not in the habit of killing living creatures but this wasp nest ( known as a Byke in our part of the world ) appeared recently in the garden shed very close to my bird seed bin. I have been stung in the neck before and didn’t fancy another unprovoked attack so a quick spray with wasp nest destroyer yesterday and it disintegrated. There was no activity today so I removed the remains with  a hoe.

It is quite an interesting structure and obvious that the Queen wasp had started to fill the cells - nature is so clever but just a pity that wasps don’t keep their stinger for the purpose it was intended !
