Tiny Matchmakers

This little cupid is one of a team who encircle the intricately detailed Schöner Brunnen (literally beautiful fountain) in Nuremberg. Sometimes you wonder at the work and vision involved in such creations. Were detailed plans drawn of every section? Was extra creativity afforded the craftsmen? Were any parts reworked?

We can probably only guess, and enjoy.
