Ardnamurchan

A long (very) and winding single track road took us to Ardnamurchan lighthouse, most westerly mainland UK lighthouse. A marvel of engineering from those engineering marvels, the Stevensons.  A must read, The Lighthouse Stevensons by Bella Bathurst. Rounding the headland is a rite of passage for west coast sailors. Sailed past many times but first time to visit by land. Round and round and up and up took us to the top. The weather was changeable but the views were stunning. A real treat. As was the restaurant tonight.
