we were back on the launch field for 5 am this morning (the joys of ballooning close to the longest day) but only the organisers advertising balloon risked a flight. Although it was a lovely sunny morning the wind direction wasn't good. The balloon had to rise rapidly over nearby trees and power lines then descend again soon after to find a landing spot. Otherwise it would be over the Bristol Channel with next stop Devon. Of course retrieve vehicles would need to go the long way around which could have taken hours!   We found a lovely restaurant close to our accommodation for breakfast then headed back stopping at Castle Coombe for a walk around and lunch on the way back.
