Laurentian Uni receives its annual thrashing

Managed to get our acts together to hook up with Mitch to see the annual Laurentian University match against Carleton. Part of me doesn't get the varsity system - or maybe it is just that there is such a dearth of football talent in Canada that this passes for élite. Once again, Nico was one of only 2 or 3 players on his team that might conceivably be classed as talented and, as every year, they are so badly coached they crash to an 8-0 defeat. I mean, it is not hard to coach athletes to not lose 8-0. (It is very hard to coach poor athletes so that they are in a position to win, but not losing badly is not complicated, given time and effort - look at Everton.) NP was justifiably livid at the end of the game.
