Remarkable Rocks........
Wow.... Our first visit to Kangaroo Island and with the able assistance of my sisters daughter and friend we have had a " mammoth" day.
Left Middleton at 6:50am and drove to Cape Jarvis to catch the ferry across to the island which is the only access other than plane.
We have pretty much circumnavigated the island and hit a lot of the "peak" parts to experience - the local knowledge from my sisters daughter was great.
Now 10:30pm and just hit back to Middleton so you guessed it - very tired.
Have taken a load of shots from scenery which is a plenty around the island - local wildlife also wide and varied - sunrise and sunset on what was a superb winters day - and much family chatter as we went.
Have Blipped this scene looking across the bay to a rock outcrop ( look in large) and you will see on the point what appears to be a bunch of rocks on top of a very big rock base. Called "Remarkable Rocks" - they are just that - massive granite formations - indicated to have been formed some 500 million years ago..... Yes you read correctly.
When I get back home next week will post a couple of individual rock formations to show the size....
Could go on - but sorry the only place I'm going is bed.... Enjoy.
Tomorrow arranged to meet with Rower and Paladian for a Blip meet so looking forward to that.
