Hobbs's Run

Apparition

There's this riverside walking trail which follows the Parramatta River, for most of the way into Sydney, on both sides. Much of it is directly beside the stream or close to it, raised above the waterside in an effort to protect the tidal wetland environment. A determined walker of average fitness will take at least a few days to get to the end.

A good deal of the actual walking surface is a tight grid of hard material, essentially made from recycled plastic bottles. It seems perfectly durable and in some places has served for many years.

Anyway, it had rained yesterday and as the morning sun hit the surface in places, a mist developed which seemed to form ghostly apparitions.

The extra shows the beginning of a newly completed section of the walk, near the Parramatta ferry wharf.

Back blip, posted 4th July.
