New Beginnings

A day of getting the house in (more) order. Cleaning, tidying and sorting was the focus of the morning. This included removing the filling from our sofa cushions as we’re having them refilled. What a mess we made in the process! This afternoon I constructed a new table for the craft room we’re creating. It was a bit fiddly to do alone but I finally managed it.

Andy is away for a few days taking part in a golf competition so Merlin and I are having time to bond. It’s interesting to see how differently he interacts with me when I’m the only human in the house. Tonight he has wanted to be very close to me.

A big day for me today as it has been the first day of a sabbatical I am taking from work. I’ll say more about it another day but suffice to say it is exciting but also very strange and much harder to step away than I imagined. I will miss many of my colleagues, the intellectual and other challenges but it’s time to explore other avenues and see what emerges!
