Abstract Thursday
Things were a bit calmer and less vigorous physically today. Our church extension hall is being used as a polling station for the General Election, but we had our service as normal followed by coffee at The Exchange bistro. I stayed on there for a bite of lunch with Christine and David, as we were enjoying our conversation. Back home I filled in an online request for the British Heart Foundation charity to collect some more pieces of furniture. Hopefully they will call back to arrange it as before. I then emptied the remainder of the items from a corner unit and a magazine rack that will be going. I’m really hoping the BHF will accept the double bed, but nothing is ever guaranteed until the collection driver has had a look at it.
My blip is an abstract of the detail from a much-treasured 1950’s Moorcroft vase. It features some of my favourite flowers, anemones, in dusty pinks and bluey-purples with sage green foliage, exquisitely painted and tubelined on a cream coloured pot. On the bottom it is signed and stamped, and has the original paper label still attached bearing the Royal coat of arms and the words “By Appointment - Potters to the Late Queen Mary”. Thank you to Ingeborg for hosting Abstract Thursday.
