Hope in our hearts

I spent the morning putting washing out and bringing it in again. There was a good drying wind but heavy showers as well.

Ailie is now negative for Covid but is so tired she had to take the car to her polling station, so won’t come over tonight. She says she won’t go to Linda’s brunch (celebration or wake) tomorrow as she’s not up to being sociable. It must have really floored her this time, her third bout.

I’ve felt really nervous all day and more so when my daughter had been called by Labour to get out to a nearby marginal as it wasn’t looking good.

Carol and Phil came over when she finished work about 9. We didn’t turn on TV till 10 and we are encouraged by the exit polls which haven’t been too far out in the past. Disappointed though that it looks like our awful Tory will survive. Also Reform came second in Sunderland though even with them and the Tory vote Labour would have got in.

I have hope and here we are with Carol and Phil, our only friends who were up for a late night.
