The Newt dog

We traveled to granddaughter Mariyah’s house today to celebrate her birthday and America’s independence. I cooked some of the food ahead so we mostly got to sit and visit. Levi came down from Asheville and Tate from Boone. It was good to have the family together.

Including four dogs. Newt here in the photo is a dog Mariyah found at a gas station a year ago. He was about 4 weeks old then. Since she is a vet tech she had him checked out and then tried to find the owner. No luck there but she had already fallen for him. Yes he is mostly pit bull but has some kind of terrier in him because he jumps around like a Jack Russell when he is playing with the other dog. My dog let him know right away that she didn’t play with boy dogs. He is really a good dog and very well mannered.

A drive back home to end the day but we made it before dark. We will all sleep well tonight!
