Hoornwijck
Gabriel de la Faille bought two plots of land in 1707 and added them together.
The first plot with house on the Hoornbrug, was acquired from the estate of the widow Helman, the second piece of land from the widow of master mason Adriaan Rotteveel.
The Helman family was probably in the possession of the land to the Vliet since 1642.
In 1712 the Hoornwijck estate has been depicted on a map of Nicolaus Cruquius.
Although Hoornwijck near the Hoornbrug is to be named as well, or perhaps only be explained by the fact that the family de la Faille came from Hoorn.
The two wings of the house, which still exists one, were probably added by the sons of Gabriel de la Faille.
Nice clouds too ;-))
