TAKING TERNS

Taken outside the Visitor Centre at RSPB Saltholme just after a torrential downpour (from which I'd had to take refuge in the café) had finished. I then went off and was so absorbed in trying to see whether the dragonfly exuvia (extra) was empty or not (it was) that I missed the fact that one of the staff had locked me in behind a large metal gate without checking that the wildlife garden was empty. It was still supposed to be half an hour before closing but no-one seemed to be about and the emergency number on the gate just returned "number not recognised". I called the other security number and they - after taking my name and email address for some unaccountable reason - phoned round and found someone in the centre who came out and let me out - apologising profusely for not checking properly. She also thanked me for pointing out about the phone number which they've recently changed apparently and nobody had checked against the notices around the site, so a bit of a cock-up all round. As I drove away there were still a couple of cars left in the visitors' car park, so I wonder where they were and if they're still locked in somewhere.
