Not part of the parade but amusing the crowds before the start and allowing this photographer to practice panning . . .

       Hot day lots of walking the parade route and then hours sorting through a couple of hundred shots. Why do I put myself through that?

       And then on Friday I had a scare as the car battery was out of cranking amps and was due in Mesa for an oil change and service I'd reserved.  I did what one is not supposed to do with modern cars - I bump-started it (we have a convenient short slope on the road at our place). Today (Saturday 6 July) I'm recuperating after the excitement of the past couple of days.
