FK had a non pupil day today, but instead of a relaxing day, it was full on from the moment I was out of bed at 5am. I'd had a distressing dream and shouted out at 3.30, which woke me, and that was that. I took FK to an induction day at Stansted Airport College and waited at a lovely coffee shop in Stansted Mountfitchet in the sunshine. I found a lovely butcher and bought some kebabs for bbq later.
FK finished and a quick turnaround back home before driving him and a mate to Writtle 5 a side pitches where he met four more mates for a kick about, in the blazing sun. We'd taken loads of bottle of ice water up in a cool bag, which they were all thankful for. Luckily there was an art group end of term display in the hall which kept me busy while they played.
Back home in time for FK's first driving lesson, made me quite emotional.
I walked into town to pick up the most beautiful edition of The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett, our most favourite childhood read. Part of the 60th birthday pressie to my Sister Lizzie, who I then met off the train and she'll be staying until Saturday.
FK came home not long after, buzzing having driven a Ford Kuga.
It's been a long day. The photo was from a peaceful time this morning...garden in Stansted.
