Wound up in Wexford

Cheers

The first day of our "Meet the neighbours" weekend got off to a slow start.  We were just clearing up after our lunch when the first family arrived.  A couple with three boys, who seemed very shy - we scarcely heard a word from any of the lads.  Parents were lovely, and very friendly.

After they left, we had a short break, then another couple arrived with three girls.  My goodness, the kids were a contrast.  Not shy at all, full of energy.  Parents again seemed really lovely and good to know,

After they left, at about 5.45, we decided that was probably it for the day, shut the gate, I started clearing away the snacks from the table, whilst W switched on the TV for the England match.  Then the gate bell rang.  A young couple with a 10 month old baby.  Apologetic for coming so late, but the baby had delayed them, but we were happy to see them.

So, only three families today, but everyone has been wonderfully friendly, and helped us to feel a little more engaged with the area.

We're expecting more visitors tomorrow.

By the time the third couple left, the footie was into extra time.  And by the time I took this photo it was on to the penalty shoot out!  It's not gin, but Oude Genever in my glass - a different flavour for a change.
