a stonechat, we think...

It's very rare that a bird will pose near enough, or for long enough, for me to get any kind of image. This chap was quite obliging and the Merlin app suggested European Stonechat, which seemed reasonable. Lots of martins having fun, and plenty to see on a windy walk along the beach.
Met E & C for lunch then back home for E to get ready and go to airport. C dropped her off and back in time to watch second half of crushing football tedium. I don't mind, actually, M likes the big matches and is happy to have someone to watch with and I potter around, desultorily reading, sitting on the patio, etc and don't feel I have to make any contribution to the evening other than just existing.
