Lighthouse Lens

It was a really wet, windy and wild day.  We were glad that we had seen the forecast and had moved the car away from being right by the front.  We cooried in, as it wasn’t really a day for going over the doorstep!

We eventually made a plan to got to the Scottish Lighthouse Museum in Fraserburgh.  When we got there, we didn’t want to get out of the car, but we did and ran into the museum.  We had a look around, and then went on a tour of the Kinnaird Head Lighthouse.  That entailed going back outside for the quick walk – and we were battered by the weather.  All in all we all found the museum and the lighthouse very interesting.  The downside was that the café was closed.  We therefore had to head off in search of a late lunch,  We failed, so ended up buying sandwiches and parking near the beach for a late lunch picnic in the car.  We watched the sea, which was wild, as the tide went out.

We then decided just to drive home.  The sky was brightening, so we drove on to Banff, where we had a wee walk to get some fresh air.  We picked up fish and chips for tea in MacDuff on our way back to our cottage.

Later I went out for a walk around the village, dodging all the detritus that had been thrown up by the waves.  TT watched another James Bond movie and BB watched football.

I loved the lighthouse lenses in the museum.  This one came from Neist Point on Skye, and resembles C3P0!  The extra shows the view over to MacDuff from Banff this evening – after the storm.
