Paris in transformation

In the early morning we cycled along the Seine and in many places in the city the infrastructure and grandstands for the Olympic Games are now being set up. For example, on the Pont Alexandre as in the blip, or along the Seine for the opening ceremony (see extra). 

Interestingly, there were far fewer people than expected outside the tourist hotspots. This was also confirmed to us in conversation with locals. For some, the summer holidays have already begun and many prefer to leave the city for the coming weeks.
