Sunset
The weather came in today and it was cloudy and windy for much for the day. We started out by heading to Bowmore, the largest town on Isaly (still smaller than the vilalge where we live!). P had his first distillery dram of the week plus the first interesting bottle tasting from the Bowmore festival edition, but couldn't quite bring himself to part with £200 for a bottle to take some home. The woman on reception had a chat with us and showed the way that Bowmore harvested peat on the Island and who was very proud of their more sustainable methods.
We then got lunch at Peatzeria which was super tasty, before having a wander along the battery. The battery had good accidental wildlife where we disturbed a fledging something that was chilling out on the path, then surprised a very pregnant common lizard, also on the path.
In the afternoon the weather still hadn't picked up so we drove round the island to the Bruichladdich distillery where once again P sampled drams wher he wished he could afford a bottle, the Octomore being a firm favourite and possibly the best whisky he's tasted so far. Still at £144 a bottle, a bit out of our price range!
The evening brought a fantastic sunset just out of the window. Our cottage has views out over the sea and we've spent quite a bit of time just watching the weather come over and how it changes the sea. The sunset was so fantastic, it gets the blip.
