James’s world
#2 daughter sent me this photo today. They must have been at Spanish City as she says James, now 9, pointed out the fire escape plan to her. He asked her what it reminded her of. She couldn’t say. He told her it looked like USA. I think he’s right. (James has a form of dyslexia which causes him reading and especially writing difficulties and he has other unusual quirks. He has always been very visually aware, pointing out insects nobody else has noticed, or stopping to tell us to admire the view or asking for the phone to take a picture of the flames in the fire. We are all a bit anxious about him adjusting to and coping with middle school next term though he did enjoy the transition days. Daughter is happy his teacher seems to recognise that he responds well to praise and needs positive reinforcement.
We went over to Whittingham this morning to pick up a pair of wooden kitchen chairs someone had advertised on a free cycle site. Our cane ones are developing holes but replacements are too expensive.
Katy and Colin are coming over for a drink and a catch up tonight. Colin’s band is going to be playing in the village hall but we can’t go as it’s on #3 daughter’s birthday.
It been a day of really heavy showers.
