Two Out Of Three Ain’t Bad
Not quite the hoped for British 1-2-3 but that was never on after George Russell had to retire the car. The team said it was because of “water system issues”. I think that’s we would call “overheating!”
But, obviously, the highlight was seeing Lewis Hamilton finally winning a race after such a long time. It was so close at the end that I could hardly bear to watch.
It’s a shame Lando Norris chose to spit his dummy out during the post race interviews. Yes, he’s disappointed, but he should still be proud of what he and the team are achieving at the moment. Put the happy face on for the media and save the specific recriminations for the team debrief.
It’s been a good day today. A decent walk this morning - albeit with changeable weather conditions, not unlike the Grand Prix. The difference was that we were safely ensconced in Caffè Nero during the heaviest downpour!
I only get to see one Grand Prix live each year (I refuse to pay for Sky) but this was not only the best race of the year, so far, it also saw the return of Lewis to the top step. I am very much a happy bunny this evening.
