Kit Packham’s One Jump Ahead
“Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise, so I have begun to change myself.”
Rumi
A quick diversion to the local church, St John the Baptist, on the recommendation of the B&B owner, to be welcomed by a working party sprucing up the church (they’d obviously been told I was coming). Lovely place dating back to the early 13th century and obviously still an active congregation. Gave me such a welcome I was a bit late heading off to Shere, to The Harry Edwards Foundation at Burrows Lea for the 70th Anniversary of The Healing Trust. Several hours of socialising, lunch and light music afterwards in the glorious sunshine on the gorgeous gardens with a phenomenal vista over the surrounding countryside. Headed off to catch the late afternoon sun on the church of St Mary the Virgin at Holmbury St Mary – I’d seen it last night on my way through and wanted to get a photo before leaving the area this evening.
