A cracking swarm
Headed to out apiary with boy dogs.
A long walk by a burn the long grass was saturated and I got soaked. The dogs had a great fun.
Tied dogs to a tree and started hive inspection
Sealed queen cells and a queen. Took the queen into a nuc with some bees and frames and left hive with 2 queen cells.
Working through the hives and suddenly spotted this. A cracking prime swarm. Easily shook into a nuc and extended to a 12 frame box.
Found the hive beside the swarm had sealed queen cells and reduced them to 2 cells.
the swarm branch had some comb built, so an overnight one
Was thinking of rearing Queens but having the dogs I did not have the time to set up.
Tea and chat with the laird and wife.
Dinner made.
Sorted garage.
Fed the swarm from yesterday at local bees.
Walked boy dogs with eco mum through the field.
