I timed my walk this morning to the elementary school where I will work for 4 weeks of summer school, starting tomorrow. It only takes 5 minutes to get there. It only runs from 8 to noon, Monday through Thursday. I'm hopeful it doesn't feel too burdensome. They have put me in the pre-kindergarten/kindergarten class. A group of kids I generally don't work with. Reports to come.
Last night I had the venue wrong. It was the Albany Lodge instead of Woods Landing. It's a good thing I didn't drive myself..lol. This was still up in the mountains but a different highway. It was fun to get together with old friends but I have never had such a horrible service experience. They were clearly very short staffed with servers and in the kitchen/bar. Some people didn't get their food for over 2 hours!! I got a drink order and nursed it all evening. I won't go into all the detail but at the end my side of fries never came and neither did the bill for my drink and my friend's drink. We didn't feel bad leaving without paying.   It probably would have taken another 45 minutes just to get the bill..lol. I don't think I'll go back anytime soon.
