The Lozarithm Lens

The Woodland Garden (Monday 8th July 2024)

I had a gardener round for the first time since Refna left for the mean streets of Watford, a chap from Lacock called Henry. He trimmed the hedges, buddleia, climbing roses and Refna's 'Cloud' (pictured), and cleared the pathways, enabling me to do some gardening of my own.

Lozarithm's Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Joni Mitchell - Both Sides, Now (recorded 12 March 1967, for Folklore, WHAT FM: Philadelphia PA)
By the time Joni Mitchell released the studio version of this song on her second album, Clouds, in 1969, it had already been a hit for Judy Collins, and had been recorded by Frank Sinatra, Davey Graham, Fairport Convention, Dion and several others who had learned the song from her publishers' demo recording. As far as I know this has never been made available, but this radio performance from March 1967 is the earliest known version by Joni Mitchell herself.
