The Old and the New
Came back from the Isle of Wight today and as the car ferry manoeuvred into its berth in Portsmouth, I Blipped this photo of the Vulcan Building (centre of photo). It was part of the original HMS Vernon which was commissioned in 1876 as the Royal Navy's Torpdeo School. It had many other purposes in its history and after it was finally decommissioned it, along with lots of other original buildings, became part of the Gunwharf Quays complex. The beautiful building is now apartments.
