Sit Up And Listen!
It's appreciated and indeed, expected that the audience would stay awake for the speaker who had come from, and was returning to, Wales today.
This afternoon I got an appointment with a doctor to look at my irritated skin. I came away with 5 prescription items!
Tonight was the annual meeting of the Penrith & District Red Squirrel Group. There was a good turnout and the cat was keen to get a good seat in the Rugby Club, but soon lost interest in the presentation.
We came very well out of the raffle. I wasn't the first to get a winning ticket called but the thing I had had my eye on was still there - a 10-year old Glenmorangie, but in an unusual shaped bottle with the name split into 4 layers: GLEN - MO - RAN - GIE, a well-disguised malt! A couple of numbers later The Man's ticket came up, now we had agreed there were some prizes we did NOT want so he picked up another bottle. When we got it out to the car and I read the label it was a blended whisky, again disguised by the name "Pig's Nose". Who'd have been tempted by that name?
