MonoMonday: Partial

This morning we drove the Toronto family up to Edinburgh for the final leg of their holiday over here: they have some things to attend to here tomorrow then they fly back home on Wednesday. Tonight they're staying with some old friends so after a fun time looking after our grandson in a park we had an evening to ourselves, staying in a hotel near the city centre.

After a meal we had a wander up towards the castle, but the preparations for the Edinburgh Festival next month prevented us from getting a view of much of it. However we had fun with the distorting mirrors outside the Camera Obscura, which gave me the opportunity to join in with JacZero's MM challenge this week of "partial" as I'm partially distorted and partially missing in this selfie!

The golden hour light was rather lovely so I've added a couple of extras, the first being a view over part of the city to the Firth of Forth and beyond. The second is taken looking down one of the old narrow "closes" which run from the sides of the Royal Mile: the Scott Memorial is just visible in the distance.
