The oldest swinger in town...

Is the Open Championship which will be played this year on 18-21 July at Muirfield in East Lothian, home of the Honourable Company of Edinburgh Golfers. Mind though, if you can afford to join the club I wouldn't bother applying if you are a woman.

In the week preceding the start of the event the organisers of the Open have set up this area in St Andrew Square, which runs from today until Saturday 13 July, for the public to come in and try and improve their swing if not their dress sense. You can also get your photograph taken with the famous Claret Jug.

My swing is beyond redemption so I'm not going to join in.
