Rough Wooing

The Rough Wooing was the last period of conflict between England and Scotland that happened before the union of the crowns. This sculpture in Musselburgh commemorates the battle of Pinkie Cleugh which was part of the Rough Wooing.

We were in Dunbar today to visit John Muir's birthplace (having just finished my John Muir week at school) and stopped here to have a look. It is in the middle of a new housing estate and we got quite a few odd looks as we stopped and got out to take photos!
