Dodd
After Saturday's festivities we needed to do a bit of exercise to offset the carbs we had consumed.
We hiked up Dodd, although it is 1600 feet there are good tracks which makes it quite easy going. The hike goes up through the forest and then opens out on top. There is nice cairn on top with a memorial inscription to "Ian & John" , great views south over Keswick and Derwentwater and north over Bassenthwaite Lake. (Extras)
On the way back down through the woods we were "buzzed" by a Golden Ringed Dragonfly.. I tried to get a shot in flight but it was hopeless, I think the dragon took pity on my efforts and landed for a portrait.
